Project Cycle Management

Project Cycle Management

We direct experience of governance processes by working within a nested system of central, regional and municipal governance.

Experience includes the identification of bankable environmental projects in candidate countries, particularly related to EU accession (e.g. within the context of Pre-Accession and Structural Funds) scoping and costing of feasibility studies, incorporation of alleviation of poverty issues, mainstreaming gender equality, considering minority groups such as the Roma communities and indigenous peoples.

Projects conducted mostly in support of the transitional economies of the Former Soviet Union and of central and eastern Europe, notably in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Czech Republic, FYR Macedonia, Hungary, and Serbia & Montenegro. This involved assessing state-run enterprises for potential privatisation, advising on external market forces (particularly related to consumer preferences), and providing training on environmental/sustainability issues.

Have been involved in all stages of EC and other donor Project Cycle Management including, project fiche development, log frames, drafting of ToRs, project formulation, financing proposals, development of detailed technical specifications for monitoring (preparation of detailed estimated budget breakdowns, market analysis, indicative prices…) monitoring and mid-term and post-project evaluation, Country Environmental Profiles with climate change mainstreaming, Country Strategy Papers, and Regional Environmental Profiles, and including specific experience of EU 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th EDF and various funding modalities and delivery methods (project and budget support and their variations) and quality control for donor projects
